President Barrow commends G-Plus ambulances on quality of equipment. After inspecting the sample ambulance and its in-built facilities, the President applauded the initiative and assured governments support to create an enabling environment for operation of such services and improving on the existing ones.
He was impressed by the equipping of the ambulances which can provide Intensive Care services as they evacuate patients to hospitals.
The president was flanked by the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Mr Elhadj As SY, the Managing Director, E-Plus, Mrs Susan Ng’ong’a and the Secretary General, the Gambia Red Cross Society, Alasan Senghore,
Speaking to the press, Mr Elhadj As SY lauded E-Plus and the Gambia Red Cross for partnering to bring such unique services to the Gambian people. “The ambulance can provide services that you can find in an ICU unit. People used to see ambulances transporting patients without treating them. This one treats on the spot and provides all the necessary care on the go. We encourage partnerships like this as they bring change to the people.” he quipped.
Mr Sy reiterated their federation’s commitment to Red Cross while soliciting the support of the government, private institutions and individuals to enable the ambulance services available in the entire country.
Recently, Emergency Plus Medical Services (E-Plus) through partnership with the Gambia Red Cross to establish ambulance and outpatient clinic in The Gambia. The company operating as G-Plus Emergency Response Services (G-Plus) started operations in December with the official launch expected mid of February 2020.
