Nairobi, Kenya, Sunday 11th April 2021: Our attention has been drawn to inaccurate reports appearing on NTV Media platforms about an accident that involved one of our ambulances yesterday at around 19:10 hours in Kabarnet Town in Baringo County.

We wish to state as follows:
The E-Plus Management immediately commenced investigations into the incident with a view of establishing the exact details.

While we do acknowledge that the accident involved one of our ambulances, based in Baringo County, we wish to categorically state that there was NO PATIENT/S onboard the said ambulance at the time of the accident.

The said ambulance was en route to respond to an emergency call in Reale Hospital in Kabarnet Town when it, unfortunately, slipped into a ditch to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle along the Kaprorita road in Baringo County.

Immediate alternative plans were made to respond to the call and the operator who sustained minor injuries was rushed to the Reale Hospital in Kabarnet where he was treated and discharged.

Hence, the sensational reporting that the “driver” was drunk is INACCURATE. This case should be treated as an isolated unfortunate incident.

Our paramedics and ambulance operators are highly trained and exercise utmost professionalism and ethical standards in their line of duty. As such, we take utmost care in the services that we offer.

The inaccurate and sensational reporting on this incident is highly regrettable and we do urge media outlets to exercise caution and tenets of fair reporting.
