PRESS RELEASE – Provision of Emergency Medical Services During Protests
Nairobi, Kenya, 26th June 2024: Our attention has been drawn to a viral video circulating on
social media platforms regarding an unauthorized use of an ambulance during protests in Nairobi.
Emergency Plus Medical Services (E-Plus) clarifies that our mission was purely to offer
emergency medical services to any person (s) in need of medical evacuation.
We confirm that our ambulances were only used to evacuate injured persons in need of medical
assistance.
During yesterday’s protests, we attended to over 150 casualties at our temporary triage
stations in the Nairobi CBD and the entire country. A total of 50 critically injured persons
were rushed to various hospitals for further treatment.
